Process of acquisition from Joka-Esplanade Metro in Kolkata

The working procedure of Joka-Esplanade Metro has been started including the underground land acquisition. A joint survey has been done on land by the Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) and  Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC), the monitoring agency of Kolkata metro projects. Under the jurisdiction of the Metro Railway (Construction of Works) Act the notifications will be issued for acquisition of 1.5km stretching between Mominpore and Ekbalpore.

There is the stretch of land about 400m ramp upraised from the Mominpore station to the start point of DH Road-National Library Avenue crossing in underground tunnels including the four entrance of Kidderpore Station till the end of Alipore Bodyguard Lines.

As this underground tunnel length measures up to 2.8km, the army land which is under the Ministry Of Defence (MoD), and the agency of metro projects, RVNL has taken the NOC from the ministry. Some other organizations and individuals are also included to get the acquisition of the property for the metro work.

According to the reports of the survey with KMC, there are many organizations and shop-owners included in the list of Project Affect Persons (PAPs ) including Nepal Consulate, CMRI hospital, Kolkata Police, St Thomas School, St Teresa’s School, and Bengal’s land reforms and PWD departments. The officials of the RVNL said that the metro works need to acquire some land from CMRI hospital to St Teresa’s School and for the entrance of the station, a small area of St Thomas School could be acquired. Both KMC and RVNL have set up a meeting with the school authorities for issuing the notifications of land acquisition.

It is a formality of getting the possession of land from the government authorities like Kolkata Police and West Bengal government whereas there were already some shop-owners and organizations that need to shift their shops from that particular space. The RVNL has already conceived the permission of acquiring the Army land for the building the stations of Victoria Memorial and Park Street. The metro lines of Joka-Esplanade link-up with the three corridors hub which is a stretch of 14.95km and the Esplanade station is already included in the existing north-south lines.

People and homebuyers are mostly working professionals who usually want their homes and flats with the nearest locations including proper transport facilities. It will be a smart choice if people invest in Residential Projects In Kolkata  for making investments in real estate.
